Because MLD moves fluid back toward the heart, it is not suitable for everyone. For your safety, we cannot perform this service if you have any of the following contraindications:

• Acute Infections: If you have a fever, the flu, or an active skin infection (like cellulitis), we must wait until you are fully recovered.

• Heart or Kidney Issues: Specifically untreated congestive heart failure (CHF) or severe kidney failure, as these organs may not be able to handle the increased fluid flow.

• Blood Clots: A history of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) or recent blood clots.

• Active Cancer: If you are currently undergoing treatment for a malignant tumor, we require a physician’s note before proceeding.
